Continuing from her Pre-Fall 2019 line, Stella McCartney is again using the animated film, “Yellow Submarine” as her inspiration for her Fall 2019 Menswear Collection. This season, however, the references are much more obvious, if not for the sleek suiting that’s clearly influenced by how The Beatles dressed in the 60s, but also by the actual imagery that decorated the clothes. A cobalt blue sweater had Ringo Starr‘s face printed on it, while a black coat has patches of Starr, John Lennon, and the designer’s father, Paul McCartney. A wool jacket even featured the band members’ animated selves from the film on the back, knitted so neatly that everyone will instantly recognize them. The sleek youthful touch on the tailoring, on the other hand, was a subtler approach to highlighting the refrences—options that won’t make one look too much of a fanatic. With all this nostalgia, it’s safe to say that McCartney is bound to draw in the younger crowd into her stores come fall!
