Smashbox Cosmetics Always On Liquid Lipstick Review

“Always on” is a pretty bold claim for any lipstick. Historically, lipstick is one of the makeup products that does need a lot of loving and finessing, especially because we talk and eat and generally chip at it throughout the day. Luckily, with Smashbox’s Always On Liquid Lipstick, “always on” is pretty accurate. This product has a great range of colors to choose from, with both classics and bolder colors represented on the product’s spectrum. Once this lipstick goes on, it has a beautiful payoff, with only a few shades looking streaky at the first coat. But once properly coated (although, take note that less is more with this product), it has a beautiful, vivid color payoff. Dried down, it’s definitely a matte, but unlike other matte liquid lipsticks out there, it’s not a crumbly or chalky matte; it’s plush and comfortable, with just the right amount of hold to stay on the lips for its promised 8-hour wear time. The main gripe with this product is that the applicator can get in the way of the product’s fantastic formula as it’s just not as precise as it needs to be. But that’s a pretty minor gripe for such a fantastic product that’s worth keeping in your collection of lipsticks, whatever colors of lipsticks you’re into.
