How does one define the looks of luxury? With a dusky mint pantsuit in soft crepe that lightly envelopes the body? A swiveling beige overcoat with a stark white pantsuit underneath? Or maybe it’s with a stunning camel coat with a draped scarf that embraces the finest features of a woman? These and more were what Shaina Mote defined luxury with in her Fall 2019 collection. Inspired by the classic styles and the opulent centuries-old architecture she saw in Europe, she brought her collection back to a time when elegance was the name of the game. Only this time, she included a few new cuts and manipulations that only the most contemporary of tastes can truly appreciate. See the ivory silk dress ruched on the side to create a flowing feature by the hip. Or the earthy brown sweater with a well-defined round neckline—sort of encircling the head in a rather gracious manner. These and more convey a sophisticated spirit that’s still alive and well in this day and age. And with that, we say to Ms. Mote: Brava!
