A couple clad in all-black ensembles pushing a classic pram onto a petal-filled runway. This can only come from one designer: Ryan Lo! It needs to be said that her dedication to upholding classic styles and going against the grain of today’s trends is rather special. She knows what she wants and she does what she wants. And for Fall 2019, it was all about the Victorian era—ruffled necklines, laced-up corsetry, and the like! Though the pram-pushing show gimmicks were unnecessary, they didn’t take all that much from what was ultimately a lovely collection. And a wearable one at that! Though some were bordering on costume-y, most of the line consisted of easy separates and fine frocks for cocktail hour. The shapelier ones with a metallic sheen to them will most likely resonate with the younger clientele. While the ruffled separates—no matter how ornate—might work for those quirky businesswomen too! All in all, Ryan Lo provided some much-need fantastical fun this season!
