To say that the new Rochas menswear collection is chic is an understatement! Fall 2019 marks the first outing from newly-appointed creative director Federico Curradi, and for his debut, he definitely did not disappoint. Inspired by the Parisian philosophy crowd of the 1950s and 60s, his collection had an ease to it that was exciting and seductive, yet subtle and refined. Soft tailoring reigned supreme here, with suits and separates that embraced the body, but not so much that it felt constricted. The cut was also undeniably French, what with its flattering silhouette and shapely form that evoked confident masculinity in a subtle and sophisticated way. And to make it all more valuable, all textiles and materials used here are sustainable, ranging from organic fabrication to environment-friendly alternatives. Yet with how the clothes were designed, constructed, and styled, one wouldn’t know it! Such is the genius of Curradi and it looks like Rochas hit the jackpot with him!
