Who here felt victimized by Richard Malone’s Fall 2019 opening looks? That’d be us, and we’re expecting some of you too! The presentation started with a string of strong tailored looks, each more powerful-looking than the next, and had everyone expecting that it would grow better from there. But it didn’t. What succeeded were outfits that were low in quality construction, awkwardly draped across the body, and garish colors that did nothing to elevate the looks. Almost none of what Malone presented in the latter part of the show bore any flattering proportions or beautiful silhouettes. Some even looked too contrived that you’d even feel uncomfortable just seeing it on the runway. Still, we recognize that there were a lot of interesting ideas thrown into the mix. The execution was just so poor, to an almost embarrassing degree. Hopefully, he’ll do better next season!
