At the end of the day, fashion is just clothes. And while looks are terribly important in this highly discriminating industry, the designers who offer comfort and ease are those that are likely to be beloved. This is why Marcus Wainwright might have another hit on his hands with Rag & Bone’s Pre-Fall 2019 Collection. At first glance, it’s easy to dismiss these as basic clothes; “luxury sportswear” at best. But upon further inspection, the fit, cut, and tailoring are all simply sublime. In fact, Wainwright himself divided the collection into three categories: dresses, tailoring, and prints. The dresses were light and airy, perfect for a lazy afternoon. The tailoring, on the other hand, came in work-appropriate pantsuits (at times paired with hoodies for a cooler look) and outerwear, which looked both professional and youthful. While the prints decorated a variety of pieces just to keep things interesting. It’s a no-brainer that Wainwright knows what women want, and he often gives it to them with such elegant ease.
