Puma’s line of “Fierce” sneakers is relatively new, but it has since become an integral part of the German sportswear giant’s range. The first trainers were released for public purchase during the early parts of 2016, and are now available in Puma stores worldwide and a number of online retailers. Since then celebrities like Kylie Jenner and Rihanna have been spotted sporting the model. The pair costs only $110.
The shoe is entirely comfortable—a result of luxurious high-quality fabrications combined with expert craftsmanship. The pair is made up of layers upon layers of soft neoprene panels fastened by elastic straps for that easy feeling and quick fix. Its sculpted foam platform and padded insoles encase the feet in a breathable yet tailored manner that won’t overwhelm, but simply keep warm and intact. Moreover, the rubber soles ensure its durability for any sport or exercise.
While shoe aces its function and comfort, its design leaves a lot to be desired. Compared to other shoes from Puma, or any other models from different sportswear labels, the Fierce Chalet trainers are borderline cartoonish. The shoes harken back too much to Marty McFly rather than Martin Margiela. While it’s relatively chic and it’s certainly eye-catching, it lacks a certain sophistication Puma has become known for after all these years.
