Polo Red by Ralph Lauren Review

Polo Red by Ralph Lauren Review
Ralph Lauren’s Polo Red may have opted for a set of accords that are in theme for the scent’s name, but these actually do not provide anything special. Besides smelling rather generic, they also come off as bland and cheap. The cranberry accord changes the trajectory a little before it goes to a drydown that also feels ordinary. Polo Red is clean, sure, but the marketing does more for its intensity than the actual juice.

Cranberry creates a more interesting character for the fragrance together with the typical notes
Fresh and easy to wear
We consider the combination of notes to be generic
It’s hard to pick out the accords from one another despite not being too much of a quality scent
Heart notes feel synthetic and vanish quickly

Polo Red goes over the top with ‘red’ details. Besides the flacon, it features red sage, red wood, red grapefruit and red saffron. Other accords that supposedly intensify the scent are cranberry, amber, lemon and coffee beans. Signed by Olivier Gillotin, this scent is made for male fans of Ralph Lauren and was launched in 2013.
