Pixi By Petra’s Makeup Finishing Mist markets itself as a setting spray, but it doesn’t quite deliver on that specifically. What it can do, though, it does quite well. This mist hydrates the face and refreshes makeup, so it’s perfect to apply both before and after putting on your makeup. In the middle of the day, it’s also perfect for refreshing makeup and controlling oil. On the other hand, one of the worst things about this product is how harsh the mister is, which instead of delivering a fine mist, delivers a powerful jet of liquid that has a tendency to bruise one’s makeup. For something that claims to be a setting spray, it also lacks makeup-staying properties, which is a huge strike against this product. Another more minor concern is that the product has a pretty strong rosy scent, so if you’re not into that, best to steer clear. Overall, there are better, more effective products out there than this one because while it’s not particularly pricey, it’s also definitely not cheap, and there are cheaper products that give more.
