Rocco Iannone presented an utterly romantic outing for Pal Zileri’s Fall 2019 Menswear. Inspired by and entitled after “Aesop’s Fables,” it was all about emotion in its most colorful and child-like forms. And considering the references, there were also undeniable hints of animalistic flavor that was all too fascinating. With a rich color palette that was toned down but not necessarily somber, the collection played on the senses. From the texturized jacquards and brocades to the tempting shades of moss green and deep burgundy—colors that one can almost smell and taste—this was a fabulous wardrobe for quirky yet sophisticated characters. The slightly shimmering suedes, for example, seemed fitting for men who are youthful in spirit, regardless of age. The more mature crowd, on the other hand, is bound to appreciate the soft yet precisely tailored suits—we even think they look pajama-like in their languid elegance. While the women can play power their own strong suiting, be it in rich tones of burnt orange and emerald green or in a more playful iteration in leaf prints. Despite its refined nature, this was a happy and romantic Pal Zileri show, one that will, hopefully, resonate with many customers. Just imagine how fabulous the streets will look with all those prints, shimmering textiles, and classic brocades!
