What would it look like if millennials took over a five-star restaurant? What would they wear in such a setting? This is the narrative designers Christopher Nying and Jockum Hallin put forth for Our Legacy’s Fall 2019 Collection. Holding the show at Stockholm’s Café Opera and presenting their lookbook to the press in Paris, the streetwear brand ventured into high-class locations to really set the scene. “We wanted the look to be a dressed-down version of what the regular clientele in such a place might wear,” explained Nying. As per usual, the pair’s solid approach to casual dressing was highly evident, but this time, they layered it all up in soft tailoring and well-defined shapes. Normally, an Our Legacy customer would simply wear a nice button down and a fitted pair of denim jeans. But this season, she’s paired that look up with a nice long coat that can take her from strolling down Main Street to dining at a luxury hotel. Even the menswear was less experimental and further adhered to classic tropes of gentlemanly fashion. In the end, this was an interesting proposition for their millennial clientele, many of which might need a bit of sprucing up for their own elegant affairs.
