Ostara by Penhaligon’s Review
Description
For us, Penhaligon’s Ostara delivers as promised: it is light, bright and happy, just like what a whiff of daffodil would make us feel. But there are also many florals mixed in the concoction, all enriching the experience, and well-blended enough that one must put more effort to single out the blooms. The fragrance goes for a more natural vibe too rather than sugary or synthetic. We would have benefited more from a stronger sillage that what Ostara has, though.

Ostara was inspired by the brightness and cheerfulness of daffodils, or at least that is the case according to British house Penhaligon’s. It was created by esteemed perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour. Its notes are hefty, and include aldehydes, bergamot, juniper, mint, violet leaf absolute, ylang ylang, hyacinth, hawthorne, amber, benzoin, blond wood and musk, besides the daffodils. The scent was released in 2015.
