Pierre Maheo just delivered an equilibrium of two of the hottest trends dominating fashion today. On one hand, his Fall 2019 menswear show for Officine Generale was a showcase of his strength tailoring, both in the subtle softness of the workwear pieces and the more precise and sharp ensembles. On another, this was also streetwise offering that many sportswear fans will have something to look forward to. Upon further inspection, one can tell that most items were cut and constructed to perfection, be it the slouchier velvet outerwear or the suede suits for evening. Even the colors were sophistcated—a largely somber palette of olive green, midnight navies, and grey neutrals with pops of cobalt blue, yellow, and bright orange. Funnily enough, two pieces in the line—of polar opposites—were both shimmering. On the more desirable end, there’s this exceptionally chic chocolate brown leather coat that both men and women should have in their wardrobes. While the poorly crafted satin bomber jackets that started the show were pieces both men and women should avoid. But despite its few faults, this was an entirely refined collection from Maheo, who continues to enrapture the fashion crowd with his effortless elegance season after season!
