No. 89 by Floris Review
Description
Floris’ No. 89 is a classic English scent that does not bother with the fancy and instead goes right in with a truly rich, deep and gentlemanly vibe. It is not the most unique smell out there, but it manages to be a well-rounded mix of notes that feels natural, even with more of its recent releases. No. 89 starts out as powdery but later on gives way to more florals like roses. It also isn’t the boisterous kind, which means that the sillage is weak and the eau de toilette meant to be enjoyed more privately.

This woody and floral eau de toilette is a veteran, created in 1951 by British family perfumers Floris. Despite occupying a unique space among fragrances, it is on the accessible end of the price spectrum. Top notes are listed as bergamot, lavender, orange and nutmeg, middle notes are ylang-ylang and rose, and base notes include oakmoss, musk, vetiver and sandalwood.
