We’ve loved Naomi Campbell on runways and magazine covers for almost 30 years now. With her reigning queen on different fashion campaigns, it’s a bit surprising to know that she just has recently gotten her first beauty campaign ever.
We know exactly what’s going on in your head—“What? Really?”
Yes, that’s right. Naomi Campbell recently partnered with NARS Cosmetics to front her first ever beauty campaign for her first beauty contract. It’s been a long time coming, but after being awed by her stunning beauty and grace thru her modelling career, we’re sure we’re all going to be mesmerized seeing her beauty shine for NARS’ Spring 2019 campaign.
Long-time friendship with Nars
Although Campbell has just partnered with the cosmetics line owned by François Nars, the two have been friends for a considerable amount of time. Nars admits the strong personality that the “living icon” has, especially when in front of the camera. Having known each other since the supermodel started her career, the two “are like family”, as Nars puts it.
With Nars expressing his admiration of Campbell’s style and beauty, Campbell on the other hand announced her good news through Instagram. She wrote about her excitement for the campaign and added to the caption, “Shot by my dear friend François Nars.”
If that doesn’t prove their friendship yet, we don’t know what will.
Naomi Campbell’s remarkable milestones
Even if she doesn’t look like it, Campbell is already nearing her 50s. And with that age, it’s great that she’s still making rounds on the internet with her personal breakthroughs in the fashion and beauty industry. She started to rose into fame back in the ‘80s, wow-ing the world with her incredible modelling skills. The French Vogue acknowledge her beauty and talent when they featured her on their cover back in 1988, making her the first black woman to ever do so. A year after, Campbell once again made news for being the first black woman to be on the September issue of American Vogue.
With just a few photos of Campbell for Nars Cosmetics’ Spring 2019 being released, we’re all looking forward to what the partnership between the supermodel and the makeup brand can bring into the beauty world.
