Lip products in pencil form tend to be a little hard to pin down, but NARS Cosmetics’ Velvet Matte Lip Pencil knows what it’s doing, and does it very, very well. As a pencil, it’s very easy to use this product as both a lipstick and a lip liner. Its form also allows for very precise application, making sure you get your lips into the shape you need them to be, based on your own preferences. The pigmentation is beautiful and bright, and when it’s dried down and blotted, the finish is a nice matte that doesn’t lose its softness. Now this product’s biggest downside (besides its slight priciness) is it’s not formulated to be particularly long-wearing, so it’s definitely a product you need to stick inside your on-the-go makeup kit so you can reapply, especially after meals and such. But otherwise, this is a fantastic product to have around if you need an easy lip product to use and carry around with you.
