Massimo Giorgetti, like many designers in the fashion world, is admittedly youth-obsessed. Before the crazy streetwear moments of Vetements and Off-White, MSGM was already a pioneer of the movement on the Milan runways. For spring 2019, Giorgetti went back to such roots for his menswear collection. Here, he dressed his male models in anime imagery, palm tree prints, and some tie-dye pieces. The sportswear here was entirely energetic, what with all the bold colors and graphic prints that was splattered all over tracksuits, bomber jackets, and basketball shorts. There was almost not a single suit in sight, save for tan and pinstriped sets in the middle of the show. Since MSGM is still an Italian label, you’re still bound to see some tailoring on the runway, even though they were just in a few looks. To close it all off, Giorgetti presented a parade of “shorts-suits” in different prints, colors, and fabrications. They were youthful but sophisticated, a deadly combination that often described his own relevance in the fashion world.
