Fashion is all about making people dream, but it can also be about what designers dream themselves. Take Jeremy Scott for instance, he once dreamed he was an old-school grand couturier who got a call from supermodel Gigi Hadid saying that his show was about to start. But instead of having completed clothes to show on the runway, he only had sketches! What was he to do? Show the sketches on the runway, of course! In a way, that was what he did for Moschino spring 2019 collection. He presented a bevy of 80s-inspired ensembles, complete with nipped waists, brimmed hats, and strong shoulders that were colored as if they were just shaded by a marker. It had a cartoonish effect yet, ironically, this was arguably Scott’s most sophisticated offering for the Milanese label. This time, his sense-of-humor perfectly coincided with the elegance and quirky style of the house of Moschino. Each exit was a marvel to look at, but the pièce de rĂ©sistance? The final look of Gigi Hadid as a bubble skirted-bride with butterflies flying behind her. It was a spectacle that begged to go viral on social media, and lo and behold, it did!
