To be completely frank, making outer winter-wear cool and fresh is almost a fruitless task. There are only a number of ways in which a designer can churn out fascinating coats and jackets that would merit any excitement for those going to the slopes for the winter. But then again, Sandro Mandrino proved us wrong with his highly electric Fall 2019 collection for Moncler Grenoble. With such a powerful palette of stark shades and a flurry of fabric manipulations that added further dimensions to his garment, he laid out an exceptionally contemporary line that boasted streetwear signatures with a hint of luxury. Those first few tie-dye (or what seemed like tie-dye) looks in blue and the patchwork coat showed that craft is still very much present when playing with puffer silhouettes. The styling was also sharp, especially with the eye-popping combos and the various silhouettes. Come fall, we won’t be surprised if most of the youth would be donning these looks and feeling oh so cool about it!
