One of the biggest holidays over the summer in the United States is the Fourth of July. This Independence Day celebration usually calls for all sorts of American imagery, and usually, the very best of the country’s fashion staples. For her spring 2019 collection, Marysia Reeves displayed all these iconic styles and played with them in such contemporary ways for her modern millennial clientele. She started with denim, which she cut into a yoked maxi skirt and an oversized set of separates. Gingham, which is usually made into dainty dresses, was used for skin-tight swimwear, but still looked as delicate as ever. Marysia’s aesthetic is undoubtedly feminine, and by incorporating stereotypical American tropes into the mix, she’s made it all the more youthful, vibrant, and carefree. This is definitely a look a lot of young and young-at-heart girls will buy into come spring.
