Mara Hoffman’s spring 2019 collection was a celebration of life and happiness. It was evident through her exploration of different shapes and silhouettes and her new use of color and print. Labeling her presentation as a “funeral,” there was an earthly tone that was less melancholic and more inspirational. Maybe it was the fact that many of these clothes’ fabrications were environmentally-sustainable. Or maybe it was because of the diverse set of women that would fit perfectly with these looks. Either way, there was no room for sadness for Mara Hoffman this season. How can someone stay depressed when wearing the tailor-fit, floral-printed tangerine dress with pouf sleeves of the first look? Or look 13’s romantic and flowery two-piece evening ensemble? These were clothes made for confident, happy, and earthly women, which were most likely be the ones that have been buying from the brand in the first place.
