Mara Hoffman‘s Fall 2019 Collection is founded upon one important principle: sustainability. Back in 2016, the designer completely reinvented her brand to put more emphasis on environment-friendly materials and processes, becoming one of the pioneers of what is now one of the biggest movements in the fashion industry. This season, however, she’s taking this on with a different approach. Here, she wants the clothes to speak for themselves. Although these clothes were made out of organic and recycled materials, they don’t have to be their major selling points. These are simply beautiful clothes women would want to wear in their everyday lives. It has a beautiful juxtaposition to it: airy frocks and soft knits were shown beside shapely tailoring and structured outerwear. A woman can wear the beautiful first look of a pale blush Tencel shirt and skirt ensemble and wear it under the oversized double-breasted navy coat. A lilac-hued ribbed sweater looks just as dainty and delicate as the sunshine yellow cotton cocktail dress. With only 26 looks on offer, Hoffman also emphasized limiting production to veer away from waste—the biggest problem of the fashion industry. Beautiful and beguiling, these are clothes women will feel and look good in come fall!
