Our general consensus about the Aqua Smoky Extravagant Waterproof Mascara is “eh.” It’s definitely not Make Up Forever‘s best or worst, that’s for sure. Not noteworthily awful, but it’s also not particularly great either.
The best part about this mascara is the color payoff. With the product applied, your lashes become a rich, dark black that, of course, really makes them pop. And the product’s claim about waterproofing is also accurate. Even after you go swimming, the product, true to its word, is still visibly on the lashes.
Now, the bad. First off, the applicator is a little unstable, and if you don’t know your way around with this mascara yet, you’re liable to get some product on your lid or undereye, which is not a great look to be sporting. Despite the product’s rich color payoff, it does lack any true discernible lengthening or volumizing. Furthermore, this may get both clumpy and flaky, so definitely keep an eye out on that.
As we mentioned, it’s not a truly horrible mascara, but it makes you question where the “extravagant” part of this mascara is because it’s so deeply mediocre. Make Up Forever has a ton of better mascaras in their line, and it’s a shame that this one just doesn’t meet the same standard.
