Combining sportswear with the more refined high fashion pieces always makes for an interesting look. At least, that what Angela Missoni thought when she was designing M Missino Pre-Fall 2019 Collection. This season, she was inspired by the women who lived in the fishing towns across Asia—the ones who often mixed their swimming clothes with their more traditional garbs. The look is a stunning contrast of textiles and textures, both of which Missoni played within this line. Alongside her famous knits, she mixed and matched them with body-hugging garments made out of scuba and neoprene. The latter made what would have looked like too mature a collection all the more palatable for the active and urban cosmopolitan. But what was most striking about this pre-seasonal offering is the surprisingly harmonious pairing of different silhouettes, from the widest of poncho-like coats, long and lean dresses to the tightest of leggings and trousers. These fearless combinations, subsequently, helped it all look younger and fresher, perfect for M Missoni’s target audience.
