There was a jovial attitude at Lutz Huelle’s Fall 2019 show that was hard to ignore. Maybe it’s the fact that he was recently named the new creative director for Delpozo? The influence of the Spanish-born demi-couture label certainly showed in his works this season. Here, Huelle was focused on refining everyday pieces women often wear. And by refining them, we mean making them more elegant and a whole lot more desirable than you could ever possibly imagine! The hoodie, for instance, was not made out of denim, cotton, or wool, but rather fine silk jacquard that shimmered just right and gave off an indelibly haute finish. High-waisted trousers—a working woman’s favorite—were cut from such scintillatingly shiny silk taffeta in the most vibrant hot pink hue. Pair it with a trapeze cream trench coat and you have a winner of a work outfit! Though we could have lived without the puffy sleeves and some unflattering oversized outerwear, the collection was still excellent! If this is any indication of what’s to come for Lutz Huelle‘s new Delpozo, we’re definitely excited!
