As regular drugstore makeup users, we’ve come to expect a certain level of polish from the products of L’Orèal Paris. Products like the Infallible® 24-Hour Fresh Wear Foundation (which we wrote about a brief time ago here) prove to us that sometimes, more expensive isn’t necessarily better. This is also the case for one of the brand’s most beloved lipstick products, the Colour Riche Lipcolour Luxurious Lipstick.
As the name of the product implies, this product feels truly luxurious on the lips. Unlike many satin-feeling lipsticks out there, this product releases a very generous coat of color in one swipe. The formula is also just creamy enough to apply very smoothly, gliding on the lips effortlessly. On top of these things, this lipstick is also particularly hydrating, and wears for a moderately long period of time considering it’s not a full matte lipstick.
Truthfully, our only complaint about this product is that it does carry a fragrance which can be overpowering. For us, it made our heads hurt just a little bit. And that fragrance lingers long enough for it to be stuck in your nose for a little while, so if you’re looking to purchase this product, make sure to test it out, and see if you can find the fragrance tolerable.
We give the brand a warm round of applause for creating a drugstore product that outperforms a good number of comparable luxury lipsticks out there. We just found this product such a huge joy to use, and we will definitely be going back to it again in the future.
