What started as man’s game is now welcoming women onto the scene. Beyond diamond bracelets and colorful bangles, the modern woman is setting her eyes on fine timepieces, and the premier brands of the market are taking notice. A lot of the most prominent watch labels are trotting out feminine items to cater to a new consumer audience and among those following suit is Longines. The Swiss luxury watchmaker just released a 36mm rendition of their Legend Diver.

Release Date: Fall 2018
Price when reviewed: US$2,150.00 – US$2,400.00
Since it’s one of Longines’ smallest items to date, the price ranges from $2,150 up to $2,400, depending on the chosen strap or dial. The model made its public debut on the world-renowned watch convention and show Baselworld last March 2018, but the watch itself won’t be available until Fall of this year. This gives admirers ample time to save up to buy this piece, and it’ll be worth the money.

Pros
Although the marketing for this piece will most likely be geared towards women, it’s fit for men as well. The dark-hued dial, cream-colored numerals, and cross-hatched crowns make it less of an exclusively feminine design and encourage a sense of ambiguity. The brand offers this new model in different colors, whether it’s a more somber burgundy, a seductive plum, or classic black or silver. Whichever hue you choose, each exemplifies the sophisticated design sensibilities the Swiss brand has come to be beloved for all these years.
Cons
It should be noted, however, that this new watch is not a chronograph, similar to other and more previous variations of the Legend Diver. Ironically, its most prominent characteristic may also be its weakest point: small diameter. Timepieces are usually within 38-44mm, so having one that is only 36 is quite courageous, and might not incite as much enthusiasm from watch enthusiasts and aficionados. The dial is a lot smaller than normal, and it may be difficult for clients to appreciate its functions.
