Lela Rose is one to always include primness to her clothes. Whether her woman is working during the day or at a cocktail party at night, this designer sees her in modest and deeply feminine clothing all throughout. This is what she envisioned for her customers for Pre-Fall 2019 too—an array of flirty frocks and savvy separates. Her silhouettes remained long and lean this season, helping the wearer exemplify power even with her evidently feminine clothes. At the same time, most of her day dresses and outerwear had an ease to them that felt comfortable and inviting—as if one could already feel the pieces hugging her body at first glance. Prints-wise, the collection was dominated by florals, from the dainty scarf motifs in the first few looks to the slightly avant-garde graphics that decorated trousers and maxi dresses. She incorporated some playfulness by sneaking in some big florals—one might mistake as leopard print—on the shimmering satin evening pieces. Judging by this offering, it’s clear that Lela Rose knows her woman all too well!
