Kouros by Yves Saint Laurent Review
Description
Be warned: Kouros is not for everyone. Despite being revered by those with trained noses, the pungent smell its deceptive flacon reveals will often generate comparisons to places that have lingering smells of what the body excretes. To others, though, such natural aroma gives the fragrance a distinct, brave, even sexy profile, the animalic accord made more interesting by leather and amber. It has excellent staying power though, lasting for hours, but once it reaches the end, Kouros retreats as a skin scent.

Positives
We think that this is a very strong, distinct scent
Masculine and very sexy, but not without dipping in some dirt, mostly the civet
Loud and immediately catches your attention
Has excellent staying power even when reformulated
Negatives
Not an easy scent to wear
The ‘dirty’ personality will not generate a positive smell for everyone

Save Big At:

Kouros is a fragrance that came to be in 1981, which would explain a lot for anyone who comes across it. Yves Saint Laurent enlisted the help of Pierre Bourdon in composing it, who in turn incorporated aldehydes, clary sage, bergamot, coriander, carnation, cinnamon, vetiver, geranium, honey, amber, leather, civet, musk and vanilla. It has since then been reformulated, but it retains the strong aroma that leaves people leaning towards either of the two camps: captivated or repulsed.
