Fluidity, a languid elegance, and a soft kind of purity. These are what make dancing such an astounding art form. This season, Lia Kes took it on as inspiration for her latest line. And while we expected all the aforementioned qualities to be present in her Fall 2019 collection, we were slightly disappointed! What we saw, instead, was a somber-toned wardrobe that needed a lot of steam. Puckering seams here, some obvious darts there, and a whole lot of awkward proportions. It seems that Kes focused too much on how the clothes would look like when the wearer is moving about in a graceful manner, that she failed to realize that not all of her customers are dancers. In fact, most of them stay stationary a lot and let us tell you, these clothes weren’t made to be seen in such conditions. It was a shame, really, because we thought the all pieces had massive potential. If only she ironed them more before sending them down the ‘stage.’
