Ever since he was appointed as the creative director of Loewe, JW Anderson‘s style became a lot more sophisticated. He’s gone far from the avant-garde street style that gave him the push to reach superstardom in fashion. But for spring 2019, the British designer achieved the ultimate—a hybrid collection of his streetwear origins and his current refinement. Inspired by the tantalizing freedom of Bohemia, he put forth a parade of freeform silhouettes with his signature experimental cuts in brand new fabrications. Elegance was, however, pushed to the forefront this time as the models were mostly covered up in neatly-draped pieces. Various looks swayed and billowed as the women walked on the runway. The collection was both fresh yet familiar, as well as a promising new direction for one of the brightest designers to ever come out of the UK.
