If you’re looking to stand out from the crowd right down to your choice of watch, then there is always something at Hublot to satisfy your taste. The Swiss watchmaking company operates pretty much the same way, making more than just a stamp of being a watch manufacturer by fusing both art and technology to create its luxurious pieces. In order to do so, it has devoted much of its time and resources into research, and so far has been successful in bringing innovations in design in the horological world. The practice continues with its 2015 release, the very vogue Big Bang Broderie.

The Big Bang Broderie is supposed to embody both confidence and femininity that breaks convention, and is thus sold as a ladies’ watch. Hublot has gained a nod for the Big Bang Broderie during the 2015 Geneva Grand Prix de l’Horlogerie by getting the very prestigious Ladies’ Watch Prize.

Pros

The first thing you’ll notice about the Hublot Big Bang Broderie is probably also its strongest suit: the design is indubitably eye-catching and potentially a trendsetter for the way it breaks expectations on how a luxury watch should look like, featuring embroidery and colorful ones at that. Though not obvious at first, it is a mix of the traditional and the future, the traditional aspect showing in the Saint Gallen-inspired adornments and the recognizable Hublot bezel while the latter is evident on how the embroidery extends beyond the dial, something rarely or even unseen before. This is complemented by scratch-resistant materials so that it maintains its beauty for a considerable amount of time. Understandably, the watch also creates an aura of exclusivity because of it being a Hublot creation as well as a watch that not everyone would have the audacity to pull off.

Cons

It may depend on the version, but in most cases, the design gets in the way of the legibility of the watches. The technical features are also modest compared to timepieces of about the same price range. With that being said, the Hublot Big Bang Broderie can be grabbed at about 30 grand or more, which is undeniably steep, but the stocks are also limited.
