Guerlain Météorites Compact Illuminating Powder Review
Product Description
The good of the Guerlain Météorites Compact Illuminating Powder starts and ends at its packaging, which is at once luxurious and ultra-portable. This severely overpriced pan of powder is hard to pick up from the pan, and even if you’re able to, you’re stuck praying for something—anything—to happen because it just does that little. If you’re in the market for a luxury face powder, we recommend you feel free to skip out on this one.

Guerlain‘s Météorites Compact Illuminating Powder is the travel-friendly descendant to the Guerlain Météorites Light Revealing Pearls of Powder, which we’ve reviewed here on the site, and we’ve proclaimed our love for in the past. The Compact Illuminating Powder, unfortunately, is a completely different story.

The Compact Illuminating Powder may be nice to look at—both the packaging and the in-pan pressing—but beyond that, it basically does next to nothing. Split into four different-colored sections (for highlighting and some “color-correcting”), the product is generally temperamental, difficult to pick up on an applicator. Whether you decide to stick to one of the colored sections or you swirl your brush through the entirety of the pan, once you try putting it in the skin, it does nothing to illuminate or even simply smooth.

At the end of the day, we think you’d be much better off going for the original pearl formula because that product has the ability to really take your makeup look to the next level. This one? Zilch.

SUITABLE FOR: All skin types.

Other Information:

  • The Guerlain Météorites Compact Illuminating Powder is available in three shades: Clair (Light), Moyen (Medium) and Foncé (Golden/Dark).
