Glossier Priming Moisturizer Hydrating Primer Review
Product Description
Choosing the right primer can be a difficult and daunting task considering the number of products out there, and the unknowable effects of a new primer in conjunction with your usual makeup. With its clean, ultra-natural aesthetic, Glossier creates products that make your skin look like skin but better. This is exemplified in their Priming Moisturizer. This product, as its name implies, is a lightweight hydrating primer that feels exceptionally nice on the skin. On top of that, it also carries a natural-looking but potent blurring effect for all those pesky fine lines and pores. On the other hand, with the tube packaging, the product does have a tendency to get a little runny, especially if you’re not yet familiar with the amount of force to exert on the tube. But by far, the most egregious of this product’s flaws is that, at the end of the day, it’s still more moisturizer than primer per se—not that that’s a bad thing, of course. But one of the main reasons to wear a primer in the first place is to help the hold of the rest of your makeup on your face, or enhance the look of the makeup, neither of which it really succeeds at doing, which means that it’s basically just a tube of slightly pricey moisturizer.

Since the brand’s launch, Glossier and its clean, ultra-natural aesthetic have taken the internet by storm. With a well-beloved roster of products that are designed to enhance your natural features rather than to fully cover imperfections, Glossier has mastered the art of “no makeup makeup.” But sometimes, this very aesthetic can be a hindrance to effectivity, as evidenced by the brand’s Priming Moisturizer. While it does feel fantastic on the skin, and does help blur some of the fine lines and pores of the face, it just doesn’t quite do enough to truly elevate it from being an expensive (and runny) tube of moisturizer.

SUITABLE FOR: All skin types, but performs more favorably for normal to dry skin types.
