Givenchy Beauty’s Rouge Interdit Satin Lipstick is pretty much as luxurious as luxury products get. The product is encased in a beautiful signature black lacquered packaging with the Givenchy label etched on the side, and a nice ribbon handle at the bottom of the product. The lipstick is very light on the lips, with the pigmentation being pretty bright, giving some nice medium coverage to the lips. But for this product’s exorbitant price, it doesn’t really get to do a lot. It could definitely be a whole lot more pigmented, and provide better coverage for cracks and fine lines on the lips. It also lacks any moisturizing properties, so it just doesn’t end up feeling as good on the lips. At the end of the day, it’s not a particularly outstanding lipstick, and it isn’t quite able to justify the price tag it comes with.

The Rouge Interdit Satin Lipstick isn’t quite the success for Givenchy that it seems like it should be. The packaging is instantly striking, and the color range is quite interesting. Unfortunately, it just doesn’t get to do enough for the lips—in terms of coverage or moisturizing—to truly justify its significant price tag. While this might work for some people, it leaves one wanting so much more out of the product to make it truly effective.
