The Giamba girl going tomboy? Not necessarily, although for Giambattista Valli subline, almost anything can happen. This line, after all, is for the younger market, who’s maybe more into streetwear and athleisure than suits and gowns. For Pre-Fall 2019, Valli got inspired by rave culture and the glamour of dressing up to go to nightclubs, even if girls are wearing oversized sweaters and cargo pants. Both pieces were on full display in this offering but in more glamorous iterations. Sweaters were embellished with lots of sparkles while bomber jackets and ruched cargo pants were made out of shimmering silky satin. The silhouette of the mini-dresses, a Giamba favorite, were more streamline here, save for a couple that still had the signature flirtatious flounce of a babydoll shape. The Parisian touch was also preset courtesy of the sheer polka-dot cut-outs and layering as well as the rustic floral pieces. Wherever this nightclub is, it’s sure to be an incredibly fashionable one!
