Since the start of the 2010s, evening-wear as people know it has been redefined countless times. Floor-length hems are no longer a requirement. And embellishments? The lesser the better. This minimalist and modern interpretation of evening elegance started with the revolution that was Celine by Phoebe Philo but has now been continued by Galvan. Lead by four extraordinary women: Katherine Holmgren, Anna-Christin Haas, Sola KáradĂłttir, and Carolyn Holder, their New York-based womenswear line continues to break barriers for women who want to veer away from pageant-looking outfits for nighttime events. Their Spring 2019 proposal? Clean lines, streamlined silhouettes, and sexy slips that have since become a label mainstay. Their pieces embrace and outline the female form, paired with vivid bright hues, instead of hiding it with embellishments and frills. They’re relaxed and easy, perfect for that nonchalant contemporary woman who simply wants to be sophisticated, not over the top.
