Florabotanica by Balenciaga Review
Florabotanica is not a game-changing scent; what it is is a fragrance that fails to match the impact of its beautiful bottle. It is aimed at Balenciaga’s younger market, and that already slashes some of its potential customers, even at its target audience. Still, credit should be given where it is due: this is a well-made fragrance that sits very close to the skin. It begins with zest and mint, and later becomes spicy and dry. This won’t offend (or interest) many people, but you can rely on it for its excellent performance.

A decent blend of florals and greens
The florals eventually becomes dry and spicy
Performs excellently despite its lightness
Its perfume bottle has plenty of personality
Others may find this unappealing for them because of its youthfulness
Sits very close to the skin for us
We are disappointed that the minty side does not last long enough

Florabotanica is a Balenciaga fragrance that was first introduced in 2012. Unlike earlier releases from the house, this has a youthful bent which is intended to attract new and younger clientele to the brand. The ad campaigns featured actress Kristen Stewart, and was photographed by esteemed lensman Steven Meisel. Florabotanica was signed by Jean-Christophe Herault and Olivier Polge, who incorporated florals such as hybrid rose and carnation into the scent as well as mint, vetiver, amber and caladium leaves.
