Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Concealer Review
Product Description
The Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Concealer is perhaps not the instant classic its predecessor, the Pro Filt’r Foundation, was. Despite its own strengths—a massive 50-shade range, easy application, natural skin-like finish—this concealer fell against the weight of all expectations, on top of its own weaknesses. The concealer shades, said to serve as highlighting complements for same-numbered foundation shades, can sometimes look too light, or present as a different hue altogether, so one has to be diligent in selecting a shade. The formula, while looking great on mostly smooth skin, also has a habit of clinging to lines, creases, and other blemishes already present on the skin in the first place. Not to say, of course, that this isn’t a good concealer on its own; it is. But unfortunately, it just didn’t rise to the level the foundation it was created to complement did.

After the first launch of Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty brand in 2017—a launch that included the brand’s instant classic Pro Filt’r Foundation—the entire beauty world was immediately entranced and followed every single release from Fenty Beauty. When the Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Concealer was announced, fans of the brand rejoiced as they would finally get their hands on the product to complement their wonderful foundation. While ultimately not as groundbreaking as the Pro Filt’r Foundation, the Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Concealer stands on its own as a strong, reliable complexion product to have on your vanity or on-the-go in your makeup kit.

SUITABLE FOR: All skin types, but especially oily to combination skin types.
