Etudes brought the streets to their runway for Fall 2019. This wasn’t necessarily how other designers “brought the streets” to their own respective collection, per se, but rather designers Jérémie Égry, Aurélien Arbet, and José Lamali touched upon the artistic spirit of urban culture to the forefront of their newest line. The cooky and quirky pop-art of artist Keith Haring decorated most of the printed pieces, from the monochrome sets of separates to the slightly animated and novel accessories and knitwear. The works of photographer Colin Snapp, on the other hand, helped make the softly constructed outerwear stand out more with such visual appeal. These graphics became the major selling point of a collection that largely consisted of slouchy tailoring and staple sportswear, some of which were desirable and new enough to command attention, while others were just more of the same. If one was to don a quintessential streetwear look, they’d likely make more of an impact wearing any of the printed pieces from this line!
