Estée Lauder Double Wear Instant Fix Concealer Review

Estée Lauder Double Wear Instant Fix Concealer Review
Product Description
Estée Lauder’s Double Wear Instant Fix Concealer is a tried and true godsend. Created to complement the brand’s iconic Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup, this double-ended (one end for concealer, and the other for a prepping serum) product provides major brightening for any problem spots, as well as great wear time. Honestly, this is just such a good concealer that we were willing to let some of its less favorable qualities (slight oiliness and heaviness) slide. A true gem of a product.

It’s hard not want a concealer equivalent for a product as iconic and as effective as the Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup from Estée Lauder (check out our review here). Luckily the brand heard our prayers, and has put out the Double Wear Instant Fix Concealer.

This two-sided product is intended specifically for the undereye region. One side, of course, dispenses the concealer, and the other side contains a serum formula that once applied, refreshes the undereye area, and preps it for the concealer application.

In terms of the concealer itself, the formula has buildable medium coverage, which is perfect for treating dark undereyes, as well as brightening up the high points of the face before highlighting. The brightening effect of this concealer comes out just as soon as you’re able to blend out the concealer, creating a light glowing veil in the areas where you apply the product.

The great thing about the duality of this product (as makeup and skincare) is that the serum does have an easily noticeable effect on the concealer. Because of the serum, the concealer holds up that much better. It avoids some common pitfalls of undereye concealers such as settling into fine lines and creasing. Overall, the two used in concert is able to improve the overall wear time of the product, which is always a plus in our book.

Unfortunately, it’s not able to completely keep away all of the problems that one could get with undereye concealers. It still does get a little bit oily for comfort, and as a result, it may feel much heavier. And of course, the price isn’t anything to scoff at either.

But despite these problems, we couldn’t help but find ourselves very satisfied with how well this concealer performed. That’s the thing with makeup: sometimes, a product just performs so well that you’re willing to let its issues slide just so you can continue enjoying it. And that’s exactly what we did.

SUITABLE FOR: All skin types.
