Essential by Yohji Yamamoto Review
Description
Essential may not be loud and proud of the power it is packing inside, but it makes you regret the initial impression from the packaging with a whiff of a strong, distinct scent right from the opening. It is slightly sweet and even a little sharp, although this eventually makes way to a sour fruity smell. To us, the scent wears heavily so it is not to be applied liberally. Its strength is also extended to its staying power, making this a great buy despite not being an overly complex fragrance.

Save Big At:

Essential first found its way to perfume lovers in the late 1990s and was identified as a chypre scent, boasting of both power and subtlety at the same time. Its ingredients were listed as chamomile, grapefruit, galbanum, raspberry, freesia, ylang ylang, lily of the valley, iris, amber, sandalwood and patchouli. It found its way back to the current decade after going through a reformulation. The 1998 version was created by perfumer Jean-Michel Duriez.
