It’s amazing how a designer’s past can look so chic! For a number of years now, Kym Ellery has been a designer to watch out for, and those still in doubt of her capabilities need to check out her Fall 2019 collection to be convinced! This season, she was inspired by her upbringing in Australia, raking in both mundane and majestic elements of her past as inspiration for her latest line. The oversized cashmere separates, for instance, were inspired by the mattress covers (called ‘doona’ over there) in her childhood bedroom. That python coat nipped at the waist? Possibly a snake she once saw crossing the street when she was a child. And those pink swirls can only remind one of the amazing Australian Outback that the country is most beloved for! It’s ingenious how she incorporated all these distinct elements so subtly and finely that you almost forget the inspiration altogether. In essence, these are exceptionally chic pieces from Ellery that are worth investing in! Come fall, we won’t be surprised if several women will!
