Elle by Yves Saint Laurent Review
Elle is indeed an elevated fragrance targeted towards the youngsters. While we are admirers of its smooth opening, we are more impressed with the musky base that adds more layers to its personality. Besides being feminine, it is also modern and urbane, the pink pepper giving it a lively kick. There are also subtle hints of florals that give this just the right amount of sweet. Easy to wear, Elle won’t disappoint with both good sillage and longevity but will probably feel familiar because of the other scents released at the same time.
We like the very clean and crisp opening
The musky base gives it a stronger, more modern vibe
Has good sillage and above average staying power
Smells similar to its contemporaries
Save Big At:
Yves Saint Laurent isn’t forgetting its young admirers, supplying them with Elle for a perfume more elevated than that of their peers’. Designed by both Jacques Cavallier and Olivier Cresp, it was marketed as a modern classic and incorporated lemon, rose, freesia, jasmine, pink berries, patchouli, vetiver and cedar into the blend. Elle was officially launched in 2007 and had then 18-year-old model Coco Rocha be the face for the scent.
