Edeline Lee has always been about unorthodox presentations, and this season is no different. “In this industry, we are always talking about women, but rarely do we give them the opportunity to speak,” she shared when she presented her Fall 2019 collection. This season, she invited keynote female speakers from various industries to share their own stories, views, opinions, and more as models presented her line of simple yet sophisticated dresses and separates. Though mostly minimal—some to a rather painstakingly boring degree—we couldn’t’ deny the craftsmanship laid out on each piece. Asymmetric ruching on a pale blush top added a hint of romance to an otherwise pragmatic piece. Strategically placed frills allow elegance to overtake movement in all the right ways. And silk jacquard floral pieces harken back to classic eras when refinement was the name of the game. It’s a largely smart line that’ll probably sell well this fall, but hopefully, Lee brings in more creative ideas next season!
