The greatest fashions are the ones who have mysterious secrets hidden among them. For Dunhill’s spring 2019 menswear collection, creative director Mark Weston took on the companies colorful history as the secrets. It’s no secret that Dunhill used to be both an automobile accessories brand, then a tobacco manufacturer, before becoming the luxury label it is today. The show had a few nods to the brand’s distant pasts, such as the cigarette-thin silhouettes in some looks, and the use of premium leather in the others. Despite its history, however, Weston made it a point to show that Dunhill is now a premier menswear luxury brand, and there was nothing more luxurious than the sublime tailoring and sophisticated styling that was displayed on that runway.
