The best thing about Dean and Dan Caten is that they’re all about the zeitgeist of the times. Their fashions aren’t necessarily looking forward, but are celebrating today. Their spring 2019 collection is the perfect example of this. In one collection. The Dsquared2 twins emphasized the height of the streetwear and sportswear hype to the recent elevation of old-school elegant dressing. The material and oversized silhouettes were obviously street-style, but the draping and the complicated cutting harkened back to traditional practices of haute couture. Even their electric use of color was somehow sophisticated. While the Dsquared2 customer is never really defined, the label is one huge party of what it means to be alive and fashionable today.
