It’s crystal clear that Dorothee Schumacher‘s muse this season is somewhat of an independent spirit. She’s one to travel the world with the clothes on her back and without a care in the world. This may be what’s so fascinating about her Fall 2019 collection. There are all these little elements from various styles that make it difficult for us to define who or even what this woman is. And if a fashion line manages to challenge us, then it’s a great offering in our book! Apart from this, there are also a lot of commendable pieces in the mix. That fluffy lambskin coat, for instance, is the right mix of luxury and functionality well within today’s streetwear standards. We’re so enamored by it that we can’t help but think how its plush textiles would feel against our skins! There’s also that cobalt blue wool set that’s practically the most sophisticated look in the lot. It looks chic and comfortable, more so than other ensembles in the line. We do have to admit, however, that we don’t necessarily care for the neon-hued puffer coats and clashing of prints—they just seem rather gimmicky. But everything else gets a B from us! Had it been more refined, we would have given the collection a solid A!
