Dolce & Gabbana Beauty’s Perfect Matte Liquid Foundation does look beautiful. On most skin types, it leaves skin looking absolutely luminous and radiant, with an enviable “lit from within” kind of dewy glow. “Perfect matte” is right because it while it does dry down matte, it’s not the kind of matte that is drying or cakey to look at. But this product does begin to fall apart (literally) on skin that is any less than perfect. On oily skin, this foundation basically melts off after only a few short hours of wear time, which is disappointing because it really does look fantastic on the skin. This product also clings to and settles into fine lines on the skin, so if you have those, steer clear. Otherwise, it’s a lovely product that you should try out, if the conditions are right for you.

Dolce & Gabbana Beauty’s Perfect Matte Liquid Foundation is a beautiful foundation if—and only if—you have the skin for it. On most skin types, it dries down into a beautiful, silky, non-cakey matte. While it does do the same for oily skin, the product just doesn’t stick as well, even with extensive priming, and tends to melt off after just a few hours of wear. Overall, this is the kind of product that’s a must-try provided you meet the conditions which the product needs in order to thrive.
